Studied at the Medical Faculty Charles University Prague and Medical Faculty Commenius University Bratislava. He became board-certified in Internal Medicine, Haematology and Blood Transfusion, and Clinical Oncology. The title PhD in Internal Medicine he received at the School of Medicine Commenius University. He became Professor in Public Health at the School of Nursing and Public Health University of Trnava.
He attended postgraduate education and training at the Department of Medicine, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in New York and Mayo Clinic in Rochester in United States.
He is a member of Slovak Medical Association, Slovak Society of Clinical Oncology, Slovak Society of Haematology and Transfusiology, European Society for Medical Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology.
He participated in many international clinical trials, gave few invited lectures at many prestigious oncology conferences and is the author of many articles, books and book chapters in the field of oncology.
Currently he is a head of Department of Medicine and Medical Oncology St. Elizabeth Cancer Institute in Bratislava and State Secretary of Ministry of Health of Slovak Republic.
